UGC NET 2014 Syllabus / Pattern – University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test – June, 2014

UGC NET 2014 Syllabus / Pattern – University Grants Commission has announced the national ability test for recruitment of assistant professors and junior research fellowship across national universities of India. Union Grants Commission National Ability Test (UGCNET) 2014 is scheduled to be held on June 29th, 2014.
UGCNET 2014 is a written examination that consists of three papers. The test is scheduled in two sessions. The first session has paper-I and paper-II, while the second session has paper-III. All the three papers are objective tests with multiple choice questions. You need to mark the correct answer on an OMR sheet
Paper-I : Paper-I of UGCNET 2014 exam has 60 questions in all. You need to attempt only 50 out of the 60 questions. The total duration of paper-I is one hour and 15 minutes. Each question carries 2 marks and there is negative marking involved. In case you answer more than 50 questions, the first 50 questions that you answer will be taken as your valid response. Paper-I tests your general teaching aptitude and research ability.
Paper-II : Paper-II of UGCNET 2014 exam tests your subject specific knowledge. It has questions related to the subject you chose at the time of application. There are 50 questions in all in paper-II and all the 50 questions are compulsory. The total duration of the paper is one hour and 15 minutes. Each question in paper-II too carries 2 marks and there is no negative marking involved.
Paper-III : Paper-III of UGNET 2014 again tests your subject specific knowledge. It has 75 questions in all, all of which need to answered in two and a half hours. Each question in paper-III carries 2 marks. There is no negative marking involved for wrong answers. Thus, you can always play the guessing game.
